My Own Design

 These were my Designs i created by making a shape and expanding it , lengthening it and shrinking it and then plastering it round a manakin,

the theme is cross overs as at the front 9above) it crosses on the chest, at the side (below) it crosses on the hip and waist.
it is a simple structure with a point at the front and back of the garment moving away from the body giving the garment more body.

the neck piece accentuates the the neck and the head of the model who would wear it.

this would look great with a bold print to make the shape of the garment stand out however we want to focus on the shape so we dont want the pattern take away from that.

if i could change it anymore i would like to add more to the sides as that is quite minimalistic. id liek to make the garment even more spectacular by adding things that stick out of the body. maybe accentuating the hips.








i thought creating a garment was going to be quite hard but all you need is a few shapes and to change the curves and the folds of the shape and you create an all new shape for a garment. Its experimental and exciting as you never know what you'll end up with.
